Step Up Tulsa! Applauds River Parks Gift
|
|
Step Up Tulsa! applauds a major Arkansas
River trail enhancement project announced
Friday by the George Kaiser Family Foundation. The
GKFF gift of $12.4 million will supplement $2.6
million in Third Penny Sales Tax money dedicated to
the River Parks Authority to fund a premier trail
system in River Parks.
Step Up Tulsa's "trendbender" big idea
generated by its Sense of Place Committee was:
Encourage and drive Economic Development
activities, River Development, and
development of the Urban Core through beautification
and civic/cultural enhancement
activities that highlight the vitality of Tulsa-area
gathering spaces.
"This is a wonderful example of how people,
organizations, and ideas can come together in the
collaborative spirit of Step Up Tulsa! to make our
community great," said Director Karen Davis. "River
Parks
enhancement and other Sense of Place recommendations
- along with the other Step Up Tulsa! trendbenders -
will help us move the Tulsa area forward in a bold
new direction."
